Chocolate Beauty Recipes

 So it is all about chocolate here at Fashionlife this week! Other than of course eating chocolate in all of its delish glory there are other ways to enjoy the benefits of chocolate and what better than yummy (calorie free) chocolate skincare! Try out some of the recipes below and enjoy the benefits of brighter, smoother and fresher skin!

Chocolate Face Mask:

Turn your face into a chocolate bar and feel the oils and the chocolate work wonders on dehydrated and rough skin!

1 tablespoon of melted chocolate - the higher the % the better!

1 teaspoon of almond oil

1 teaspoon of rose hip oil

Mix well, make sure the mixture is lukewarm and comfortable to the touch and leave on your face for 20 minutes! Then rinse with lukewarm waters and enjoy your rehydrated, rejuvenated and silky smooth skin!

 

Looking for something with a bit of extra grit?! Then try this thick and creamy oat and chocolate scrub! It’s perfect for getting rid of rough skin, the honey opens pores, the cream delays wrinkles and the chocolate releases serotonin just from the smell!

  • 1/3 cup cocoa
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream, or sour cream
  • 3 tablespoons oats

Using a food processor or just a mixing bowl, mix all the ingredients until well combined and the oats are finer in texture. Then apply to your face with your fingers and gently massage away all your stress and dry skin! Then put your feet up, have a cup of tea and leave the mix on your skin for 15-20 minutes! Rinse off with lukewarm water and enjoy your touchable, smooth and fresh skin!


Now for the ultimate indulgence how about this after dinner mint inspired sugar scrub! This is perfect for skin that needs a boost and smells just like mint slices! The gritty sugar will get into the pores and clean your skin while the chocolate and peppermint will soften your skin! You can even make more of this mix and use it all over your body in the shower for all over deliciousness!

½ a cup of brown sugar

½ cup of white sugar

⅓ cup of olive or almond oil

2 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder

10 drops of peppermint essential oil

Add the sugars and cocoa powder together and mix well. Add the olive / almond oil and the peppermint oil and mix well. This mix works best when you skin is wet so use it either in the morning when you wash your face or in the shower! This mix is perfect for rough elbows, dry knees and smoothing out your whole body! Make sure you rinse well and apply your favourite moisturiser afterwards!
